Giving Day is an opportunity for Baylor University alumni and friends to answer one of God’s callings for us all: Give. As Proverbs 3:9 says, “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.”
This Giving Day, the Hankamer School of Business is excited to honor a man who has given so much in his 43 years at Baylor University, Dean Terry Maness. First as a faculty member in the Finance Department, then as chair of the department, associate dean and now dean, Maness has served the faculty, staff, students and friends of the Business School with an unrivaled passion. After 23 years leading HSB, he is preparing to step away from the position to serve in other facets.
Maness is leaving his deanship with a lasting legacy. HSB has experienced incredible growth in his tenure. Student enrollment has increased exponentially over the past 23 years, and faculty and staff have grown to meet the demands. To accommodate the expansion, a new home was needed, which led to the development of the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation, a project Maness was instrumental in completing.
To honor his many years of selflessness to the Baylor community, we invite alumni and friends to donate to the Terry S. Maness Endowed Scholarship in Business, an endowed scholarship that will provide financial assistance to HSB students. Through this scholarship, Maness’ devotion to student success will continue on.
A founding donor contributed $50,000 to establish the fund, paving the way for others. We ask for friends of both Maness and the Hankamer School of Business to build off of the generous start and help double—or even triple—the original gift.
