The Zambian Justice Project at Baylor Law works in partnership with Undikumbukire Project Zambia (UP Zambia), an organization founded by Sara Larios, a commercial lawyer based in Zambia. UP Zambia partners with Zambian courts, prisons, and defender services, and now exercises the primary responsibility for defending hundreds of juveniles who are tried for crimes in Zambian courts.
Every year, groups of Baylor Law students spend several months in Zambia working with UP Zambia lawyers, law students, and interns to provide legal aid to Zambian juveniles held in adult prisons, many of whom are held based on overly severe charges, one-sided trials, and convictions based on little or weak evidence.

Your generous donation will help Professor Serr support the work of UP Zambia and expand Baylor Law's project so that additional students can partner with UP Zambia to provide legal aid to Zambian juveniles.
