Public Health

In the Department of Public Health, we embrace a strong service-oriented vision for healthy communities and impassioned public health professionals.

We offer a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) degree, a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, and a joint BSPH/MPH degree. Our students come from various geographic and socioeconomic backgrounds and are committed to impacting the health and wellbeing of others, particularly the underserved. They serve as they learn and learn as they serve through course projects, internships, and community-beneficial research in local and global settings.

The impact of this service learning approach on students and communities is profound but challenging because resources needed to help students stay in school while serving in nonprofit public health programs can be scarce. A number of students struggle to cover tuition costs and find funding for service-oriented internships.

You can help support these students through our BSPH Scholarship Fund and our Community Health Partners Fund (supports students in community-based internships).
