SUPPORT PRIORITIES OF THE ACADEMY FOR TEACHING & LEARNING ON BAYLOR GIVING DAY
The world has changed dramatically since 1845. Yet one university commitment remains constant: to educate students for worldwide leadership and service. The Academy for Teaching and Learning fosters the transformational education of students through the development of Baylor teachers. When faculty teach, they nurture, motivate, inspire, guide, and mentor students. Investing in quality, caring teaching not only enables students to achieve academic success, it also inspires students to onward go toward lives of leadership and service around the globe.
AREAS OF IMPACT
Gifts to the Faculty Excellence in Teaching Fund provide:
SUMMER FACULTY INSTITUTE FELLOWSHIPS
Have an immediate impact on Baylor students through transformational teaching! Baylor’s Summer Faculty Institute (SFI) is a highly valued faculty institute available to full-time Baylor faculty. SFI’s aim is faculty flourishing: to equip faculty to thrive in all areas of professional life by learning best practices in teaching, scholarship, service, and collegiality. Institutional funds for faculty fellowships, however, are limited. Today, SFI admits only twenty faculty per year. Providing a gift to SFI will allow more Baylor faculty to benefit from SFI’s excellent and formative professional development experience. Fund an SFI Faculty Fellow!
UNIVERSITY TEACHING EXPLORATION GRANTS
University Teaching Exploration Grants (UTEG) fund faculty research on teaching and learning in higher education. Small Grants (up to $5,000) fund research projects that culminate in a scholarly journal article. Large Grants (up to $10,000) fund research projects that culminate in proposals for continued research through external funding. Your gifts to UTEG will generate evidence-based research on teaching and learning and position Baylor faculty to shape national conversations about higher education. Become a small or large grant supporter today!
