BE THE SPARK THAT LIGHTS THE FLAME ON BAYLOR GIVING DAY
As a Parent of a Bear, you are part of our family. Families work together to provide a brighter future. Help us build an even better Baylor!
ANY amount matters because together, ALL gifts make a difference!
DID YOU KNOW?
Since 2017, Baylor Parents (and other family members) have given gifts, totaling $1M+, to support student-centered needs on Baylor’s Campus through the Baylor Parent Fund.
WHY GIVE TO THE BPF?
Gifts of all sizes, pooled together, achieve so much for campus. The flexibility of the fund allows for action on timely needs that benefit current and future Baylor Bears, including yours! From Mental and Spiritual Health to Academic Support and Physical Wellbeing, the BPF seeks the best for all students.
WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR?
Student’s mental health needs were, and are, at the forefront of everyone’s minds. Therefore, 80% of the Baylor Parent Fund’s assets were directed toward addressing those needs by implementing a Mental Health First Aid Training Course.
The course equips Baylor faculty, staff, and students to identify individuals in need of mental health assistance and then lead them to available resources. As of November 2023, 153 faculty and staff, and 60 students have successfully completed training. Baylor will continue to offer additional training throughout the year.
WHAT ELSE HAS BEEN DONE?
In 2021, the University and Baylor parents identified a need for students to be protected from excessive heat while waiting to run the Baylor Line.
In order to solve the problem, gifts to the Baylor Parent Fund helped build a shade structure at McLane Stadium to keep current students, and future Bears for years to come, cooler while waiting to run the Line.
HOW ARE PROJECTS CHOSEN?
Baylor's leadership shares current needs that have a direct impact on learning, spiritual and emotional well-being, as well as student life.
The Baylor Parent Advisory Council, made up of former and current Baylor Parents, listens, discusses, and recommends to the Baylor administration how they, as parents, think the funds should be distributed.
