REIGNITING CURIOSITY
2022 represents a special milestone for the Mayborn - we celebrated 20 years since we broke ground on our building on University Parks. For the last two decades, the Museum has served as a community hub for lifelong learning; a place for all to learn and grow. Our building has welcomed over two million visitors, housed important collections of scientific specimens and historic artifacts, supported scientific research that advances human understanding and uncovers solutions to the world’s greatest challenges, in addition to providing a fun and welcoming space for family engagement.
Together we can accomplish more, as we look toward the future and strive to reignite curiosity in our Natural Science and Cultural History Wing. We need your support more than ever to make this ambitious expansion plan come to life!
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
We are preparing for our largest renovation in Mayborn history. The first phase will provide innovative upgrades to the natural science and cultural history galleries. New exhibits will include an Acrocanthosaurus (a big meat-eating dinosaur!) that comes to life every ten minutes, a replica of the Waco Suspension Bridge that walks guests through Central Texas’ history, and life-sized bronze mammoths at the entrance of the museum by renowned wildlife sculptor, Tom Tischler.
Our mammoth bronzes will break ground in the winter of 2023. Make this exciting moment even more memorable by bringing home a tabletop replica of our mammoth casts.
Foundry to add their birth year penny to the sculpture. Interested donors can contact Charles Walter (Charles_Walter@baylor.edu) for additional information.
A gift of any size will help us get closer to our goal! Give a gift today to impact the Mayborn’s future!
