Who we are: Engaged Learning is a critical part of the academic experience, at Baylor by providing our students with a continuum of learning from the traditional classroom toward prospective career paths. The application of classroom teachings to real world experiences is where the richness of learning truly takes place.
The Office for Engaged Learning is the central repository of opportunities for students to most deeply engage with their Baylor education. This is the hub that brings together mentoring opportunities for students in the Sciences, Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences as well as the central point of contact for students seeking to engage in the community, study abroad, and apply for national scholarships and awards. With a focus on four primary emphases; undergraduate research, study abroad, informed community engagement, and major scholarships and awards, students gain critical thinking skills, collaborative competencies, and leadership qualities, all within a Christian environment, that serve as catalysts to develop them as future leaders.
How your gift will help:
Your gift will help us to provide students the ability to participate in one of many opportunities provided through the Office for Engaged Learning. This will not only allow us to attract the best and brightest students to Baylor University, but it will also allow us to provide these experiences to students who could otherwise not participate. Many students cannot afford to take an unpaid internship during the school year, or participate in a research opportunity which will keep them from earning money over the summer. Many are not able to afford the travel expenses incurred as part of a study abroad experience. Your gift will help provide stipends as well as money for travel related expenses so that that more of our students are able to obtain a terrific summer experience that will catapult them toward their academic and professional goals. These experiences will have a long-lasting impact on the rest of their life.
