Multicultural Affairs

Multicultural Affairs works closely with student leaders and organizations to celebrate and honor cultural heritage helping to create Baylor experiences that are a world outside itself.  Your support encourages endeavors that discover the story of self, engage in the story of us, and value participation in the story of now.  Educational as well as interactive opportunities are made possible by this fund.

Your donation will help support the following MA Initiatives:

  • Better Together BU facilitates civic interfaith engagement to offer opportunities to reflect on one’s own culture, community, and sense of “self” and to learn about others in the hopes that they can share with one another and develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for each other.
  • Heritage month celebrations highlight Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Black Culture. Student groups organize events for the month, including scholarship opportunities, game nights, and information sessions.
  • The Kente Ceremony which is a cultural event that recognizes, acknowledges, emphasizes, and celebrates the educational achievement of Baylor University graduates.
  • The Book Club helps enrich our understanding of other cultures and perspectives by reading and discussing books that offer a unique point of view or narrative.
  • MISTER (Males Inspiring Success Through Education and Relationships) aims and seeks to find ways of supporting, nurturing, and bolstering persistence of social, religious, and academic performance among minority males at Baylor University.
  • Mosaic Week kicks off with Mosaic Mixer which is an event that allows new freshmen to meet one another and get connected with different cultural organizations on campus. This event includes free food, music, a student organization fair, and a showcase of different organizations. This also includes Black Student Welcome, Latin X Night, and Mosaic Asian night.
  • Signing Day--a fun-filled day celebrating participation in multicultural student organizations. During Signing Day, students commit or recommit to the student organization of their choice - sign their letter of intent agreeing to be a loyal, passionate member and to stay in touch with Multicultural Affairs through our social media channels.
