The Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation is committed to developing leaders who are “passionate about health and wellness”. We offer undergraduate and graduate programming in the areas of athletic training, exercise and health sciences, and recreation.
Adopting a physically active lifestyle may be the single best health behavior improving overall health and quality of life. Yet, nearly half of all Americans do not get sufficient levels of physical activity leading to significant number of co-morbidities and preventable deaths annually. Our faculty are engaged in promising health and wellness research addressing issues that threaten health and well-being across the lifespan. We actively incorporate a service mission within our programs that addresses health disparities at the local community level geared towards teaching practical skills for pursuing positive health outcomes.
Your financial support will help us continue our mission to equip students for leadership and service through:
- Scholarship support to students in need so that we can train them to become Christian leaders in our specific disciplines.
- Supporting our research endeavors by contributing towards drastically needed facility updates. Consider naming rights for a new laboratory or other ways of support to help us progress towards becoming a nationally recognized Christian research institution.
- Supporting our ability to recruit nationally recognized Christian scholars through endowed professorships and chairs.
- Supporting our community outreach programs.
I encourage you to visit our website and learn more about our commitment to healthy living. Your financial support is vital to the continuing development and success of our programs, laboratory and research initiatives.
