Gifts to the General Scholarship Fund for the Baylor School of Education support future teachers, especially those pursuing an undergraduate degree in education and teacher certification.
Baylor’s undergraduate teacher-education program provides up to six semesters of hands-on, faculty-guided field work in schools, beginning the freshman year. This early start allows students to find out if they are truly called to be teachers. If so, they can begin to fulfill that calling and passion immediately and have an instant impact on children through teaching. Baylor School of Education candidates have achieved a 100% pass rate on the Texas certification exams for several years, a testament to the high quality of preparation they receive at Baylor.
Baylor students who plan to be educators are especially in need of scholarship awards because they are entering service-oriented careers in a field with relatively low levels of pay. Scholarship gifts to the SOE can help these students fulfill their calling to serve. As one of the SOE’s scholarship donors said, “In education, students don’t have the promise of making a fortune; they have the promise of making a difference.”
Through the scholarship fund, you can make a difference by helping to educate a new and highly qualified teacher.
