The Baylor New Venture Competition (NVC) in the John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship & Free Enterprise is a multi-round, global business plan and elevator pitch competition that showcases undergraduate and graduate student-owned ventures. Now in its eighth year, the NVC has provided countless collegiate, student entrepreneurs with a life-changing experience.
The actual competition event is the culmination of six months of work, with more than 150 expert and industry-specific judges providing invaluable mentorship, coaching and feedback. Participating teams vie for substantial prize packages of cash and in-kind business services that can transform venture dreams into reality.
The 2018 NVC had world-wide representation with an applicant pool spanning nine countries. The vast geographic range of the applicants suggests that the competition has a broad appeal and has become a nationally and internationally renowned event.
The NVC depends on partnerships between Baylor and generous donors who seek to support the efforts to develop entrepreneurs and catalyze new venture creation.
