Who we are
Baylor Model United Nations provides students with the opportunity to develop solutions to today's international problems at professional conferences. MUN delegates take on the role of a diplomat and hone professional skills that will help them to succeed both as a student and in their post-graduate professions. Our students cultivate research, leadership, communication, and technical writing skills while learning about other nations and cultures as they prepare for and participate in conferences.
Why we need your support
Traveling to Model UN conferences is expensive, and we strive to cover registration, lodging, and travel expenses for all team members to ensure that qualified students can participate in conferences, regardless of their personal financial situation.
How your gift will help
Approximate total cost to send one student to a conference (conference registration fees, transportation, and shared hotel room):
- Regional conference: $250-300, depending on location
- Fall national conference – Chicago: $1,000
- Spring national conference – New York: $1,500
- International conference: $2,500 and up, depending on location
Any donation of any amount will be a tremendous blessing to our team and help us to take students to conferences. For example, a donation of $5 will provide a one-ride metro pass from the airport for the Chicago Conference, and a $55 donation will pay for a student’s registration fees for the Chicago conference. A $135 donation will cover the registration fee for a student attending the New York conference, and a gift of $15,000 will cover the entire team’s hotel expenses for the New York conference.
