Semper Pro Musica 1921-2021

The School of Music enjoys a strong and enduring reputation in the education of musicians in our undergraduate and graduate programs by maintaining a rich tradition of instruction in musicology, theory, composition, education, pedagogy, church music, and performance studies.

Baylor’s distinctive mission allows the School of Music to articulate and to celebrate Christian values in a way that is increasingly rare in the larger secular world of higher education. Our expertise and human resources allow the School to reach out locally and globally, in service and others, in unique ways that are not possible in any other academic discipline.

The School of Music has more than 3,500 alumni worldwide teaching and performing as musicians and engaged in a broad range of disciplines. This base of alumni provides a tremendous source of wisdom and expertise that can be engaged in support of our goals.

Please join with me in supporting Baylor Giving Day by making a donation to an important area within the School of Music:

Center for Christian Music Studies The Church Music program at Baylor has played a principal role in the development of Christian Music. This fund helps strengthen efforts by the Center for Christian Music Studies to help students excel as Christian musicians and worship leaders by providing much-needed resources for students growth.

Daniel Sternberg Society Gifts to the Daniel Sternberg Society provides scholarship support for deserving students in the School of Music.

Golden Wave Band Excellence Fund The Golden Wave Band is the centerpiece of many Baylor traditions. Your support helps the band update instruments and uniforms, travel with athletics teams, compete in prestigious competitions, and provide scholarships for deserving students.

Sally Tepper Memorial Musician Wellness Fund This fund was designed with multiple purposes including focusing on the wellness and mental well-being of students and talented musicians at Baylor, and also to financially support future music students who exemplify Sally's values and traits.

Giving, at any level, helps us meet the needs of our students so they can thrive and grow in their studies on our campus and lay the foundation for the rest of their professional and personal lives. Baylor truly is a place where the heart, mind, and soul coalesce.

Thank you, most sincerely, for your generous support.
