Thank you for your gift to support Baylor School of Music's commitment to preparing the whole student. Your gift will provide resources and financial assistance for students facing crises and emergency needs related to student health and wellness.
Baylor’s School of Music is committed to preparing the whole student – to supporting students’ mental health and wellbeing while also creating a rich educational environment in which they can thrive. We are asking alumni, parents and friends of the School of Music to come alongside these efforts in giving to the Sally Tepper Memorial Musician Wellness Endowed Fund to help support students during their time at Baylor.
The Sally Tepper Memorial Musician Wellness Endowed Fund
Established in October 2020, the Sally Tepper Memorial Musician Wellness Endowed Fund will provide financial assistance for School of Music students facing unexpected crises or emergency needs related to student health and wellness. Since its establishment, the Baylor Family has contributed more than $33,000 toward their $50,000 endowment goal. Possible needs met through this fund include healthcare expenses, transportation, emergency room expenses, housing, counseling, and psychological care.
Baylor alumna Sally Tepper passed away in September 2020 after a years-long struggle with depression. A gifted trumpeter, Sally was a member of the United States Air Force Academy Concert Band and Falconaires, and during her time at Baylor, she was a multi-time Semper Pro Musica Solo and Chamber Music Competition winner, a Second Prize winner in the National Trumpet Competition Solo Division and First Prize winner in the ensemble division, a National Orchestral Institute Fellow. During her time at Baylor, she was known for her musicianship, love, friendship, radiance, passion, sense of humor, and empathy.
Give Today to Support Mental Health and Wellbeing in the School of Music
Baylor alumni, parents and friends who give $25 or more will receive a copy of The Cape of Sounion featuring Sally Tepper. This special album was recorded in May 2018, while Sally was a student at Baylor, and has been released publicly in honor of Sally’s memory so that others can hear the artistry of this talented individual and experience a small part of the rich legacy that she leaves behind. Patrons of the fund may choose either a digital download of the album or a limited-edition commemorative CD (while available).
