Auri's Big and Tall Wheelchair

Auri Allen (aka Baby Shaq) is the founder/director of 3D Athletes OKC and is the owner and lead instructor of Auri Allen Basketball Academy. Auri has a disability that severely limits the use of his legs; however, he does have full strength and usability of his upper body.

With a height of 7’3” and weight of 420 lb. he has had trouble acquiring a wheelchair that can meet the demands of his lifestyle.

Standard Medical Equipment have fallen short in these areas in the past due to the weight and activity that the chairs must endure daily. Through the Baylor's Electromechanical Systems and the Engineering and Computer Science's Senior Humanitarian Design course, Auri's Big and Tall Wheelchair Team will aim to present Auri with a working wheelchair design that reconciles durability, weight, portability, and comfort.
