It is our pleasure to inform you of the Bill Thomas Endowed Scholarship Fund in Accounting at Baylor University. As a tenured professor & holder of The J.E. Bush Professorship in Accounting & Master Teacher, Bill has dedicated his career to going beyond being an educator and treats work like a mission to help his students become better people and better leaders. We were honored to establish this scholarship as a permanent legacy by which his name and impact will always be remembered. There is no better way to support Baylor students, and in turn to honor Dr. Thomas, than giving to an endowed scholarship fund established in his honor.
For over 45 years, Bill has taught and mentored thousands of students with a goal to help them realize and fulfill their career and life aspirations. As you hopefully have experienced, Bill’s contributions to the lives of Baylor students have far exceeded those he has made in the classroom. Whether you know Bill as a former student, as a faculty advisor, through his fraternity sponsorship of KOT, or as a friend or business associate, you have witnessed his impact on the lives of those around him.
The Bill Thomas Endowed Scholarship Fund in Accounting has been established to provide annual, need-based financial support to deserving Baylor accounting students for generations to come. We are happy to report at this time we have received cash and pledges totaling over $325,000. In addition, the three of us have collectively agreed to match the next $125,000 of third party contributions made to the fund, so your giving will provide $2 for every $1 you give to the endowed fund. While we know that you have many contribution opportunities, we sincerely hope that you will consider giving to this fund as a way to honor the impact Dr. Thomas has made in a manner that directly and solely benefits future Baylor students.

Note from Dr. Bill Thomas:
While I think the scholarship fundraising effort is self-explanatory, I wanted to add a few comments from my heart. I have always strived to be a professor that invests in his students beyond the normal job description. The returns from these investments in students have been unbelievably rewarding. While being a mentor and counselor is in my DNA, the legacy product of positively impacting lives changes people and hopefully alters their future legacy as well. I am blessed to have been in a position to have this impact as part of my job for over four decades. I am also extremely honored that former students of mine have established an endowed accounting scholarship in my name. I know this fund will fulfill my continuing goal of investing in future Baylor students long after my tenure is complete.
