The Mayborn Museum Cretaceous Seas Exhibits Welcomes the Pliosaur!
This project will bring our remarkable Pliosaur specimen to life through professional articulation, transforming it into a dramatic centerpiece of our Cretaceous Seas exhibit.
During the Cretaceous period, Waco and much of Texas were covered by a shallow sea, leaving behind an abundance of marine reptile and invertebrate fossils that tell the story of our region’s ancient past.
By raising $300,000 with support from our community, we will create an immersive, life-sized display of a 28-foot Pliosaur that inspires curiosity and learning for visitors of all ages, while recognizing donors through a permanent wall installation celebrating those who made the exhibit possible.
