Bear Aid Response: Flash Flooding in Central Texas

Support areas affected by Central Texas flash floods!

BearAid in Kerr County - Final Recap

January 29, 2026

Following devastating flooding in Central Texas last July 4, the Baylor Family gave nearly $26,000 to support BearAid relief efforts. Four mission trips took 41 Baylor students and 27 faculty/staff to impacted areas. These teams delivered flood buckets, packed with containing cleaning supplies and protective gear by incoming freshmen, and they repaired homes onsite with Samaritan’s purse and Texans on Mission. Tasks ranged from clearing debris, power washing a house and disinfecting mold-covered beams to rebuilding, including hauling, cutting and hanging sheetrock and paneling. Images

BearAid Heads to Kerr County to Support Flood Relief

July 25, 2025

On Friday, July 18, BearAid Disaster Relief and Humanitarian Aid traveled to Kerr County with two key goals to accomplish:

First, the team delivered 200 flood bucket kits—newly assembled by Baylor faculty, staff, and incoming students—to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) warehouse in Kerrville. The warehouse’s entire supply of flood buckets had already been distributed in response to the recent flooding and our delivery helped restock the shelves and meet urgent community needs.

The second was to assist with mud and debris cleanup and assess the scope of work for future BearAid efforts. By partnering with a local relief agency, our team gained a clearer understanding of the continuing needs in the area and how BearAid can best contribute moving forward.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve and are eager to begin mobilizing additional teams to support our neighbors in Kerr County as the recovery continues.
