Any graduating student who makes a gift of $5+ to Baylor at any point during their senior year is eligible to wear a Philanthropy Cord at their Commencement ceremony.  

The unique green & gold cord symbolizes an affinity to Baylor and that you made a philanthropic contribution.

• Scholarships for deserving students

• Construction of new buildings like the Foster Pavilion and Hurd Welcome Center

We know that the student life experience is a critical part of your time at Baylor, so a gift to the Student Life Excellence Fund supports the longevity of beloved campus traditions, like Homecoming, DIA, Christmas on 5th, Dr Pepper Hour, the Bear Habitat, Family Weekend, and more.

The Extend the Line Scholarship is Baylor's general scholarship, not specific to any unit or department. 

How Will I Get My Cord?

Philanthropy Cord pick up for May 2026 grads will be scheduled soon. You will receive an email with pick up details if you are eligible to receive a cord.
