Memorial for Edward Bradbury Cloutman III

Memorial for Edward Bradbury Cloutman III

Ed Cloutman carried his mother’s legacy forward by fighting for civil rights throughout his career. More specifically, he advocated for students, teachers, and laborers, seeking justice in the schools and workplace. His dedication to the citizens of Dallas through his professional endeavors directly correlates with Baylor Law’s commitment to service.

In today’s landscape, Baylor Law’s ability to inclusively attract students largely depends on the availability of scholarship funding. The gift of an endowed scholarship, $50,000+, in Cloutman’s memory would assist in underwriting tuition costs for generations of worthy students. By decreasing the debt for these students, the potential for public and not-for-profit service is enhanced. Therefore, this endowment would provide opportunity for Baylor Lawyers to enter the legal profession fighting for rights, carrying forward Cloutman’s rich legacy.

Gifts given toward this effort will funnel through the Baylor Law School Dean's Excellence Fund. Once a $50,000 goal has been met, an endowment will be established in the name of the Edward Bradbury Cloutman III Endowed Scholarship at Baylor Law School. Should the threshold not be met, gifts will support Baylor Law’s General Endowment Fund.

The family will be notified of the efforts and gifts.
