Live Mascot

For 105 years, Baylor University has been home to Baylor Bears – both human and the furry kind!

Baylor is currently home to rescue cubs, Judge Indy and Judge Belle. The  cubs are cousins, born just five days apart earlier this year, and come to Waco from a wildlife park in Idaho.

Indy is named for Baylor's birthplace - Independence, Texas. She is the largest cub in her litter, and likely will remain the larger of the two bears throughout their lives. Belle is named as an ode to McLane Carillon bells that provide the soundtrack to campus. Though she was the smallest cub in her litter, she has already demonstrated a big personality.

These live ambassadors help educate school groups and alumni on their proud species that serve as Baylor's mascot. All donations support important enhancements to the care of Bears who make their home on campus.
