The Baylor National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) supports and promotes the aspirations of collegiate and pre-collegiate students and technical professionals in engineering and technology, and is available to all students majoring in engineering, science, or applied mathematics. The NSBE mission statement is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. The objective of our Chapter is to encourage the professional career development of African-American and other ethnic minorities in engineering and other science/technology-related fields at Baylor University. Furthermore, this Chapter strives to promote fellowship among minority students in order to increase the number of minority students entering and graduating with a degree in engineering or other science/technology-related fields.
NSBE will be hosting their national convention in Kansas City, MO on March 23-March 26, 2023 and it is a chance for our students to do some professional networking and development and will aid our Baylor students in securing internships and jobs for their future. In past conventions, we have had many of our finest students from Baylor’s ECS department attend and many of them have gone on to continue doing great things in industry or pursue a greater academic career. Here are some success stories from last year:
