The Keane A. Tarbell Endowed Scholarship, a Hord Challenge Scholarship, was established by Katy B. Corley and Grant H. Corley of Dallas; Shannon N. Farquhar-Caddell and Dakota A. Farquhar-Caddell of Waco; Sarah A. Netherton and Jason R. Netherton of Dallas; Tara L. Neumann and S. Scott Neumann of New York, New York; and Adam H. Visconti of San Diego, California.
Keane A. Tarbell began serving at Baylor in 2003 and is currently the Associate Director for New Student Programs in Student Life. In his time at Baylor, Keane has impacted the lives of thousands of students through his leadership of Baylor Orientation, Baylor Line Camp, and Welcome Week and through his personal friendship and mentoring through New Student Programs and student organization advising. He has served as an advisor to the Baylor University Chamber of Commerce since 2003; and in 2010, in recognition of his significant contributions to the organization, Chamber members awarded him the distinction of Honorary Chamberman. He has also served as an advisor to the Theta Nu chapter of Alpha Tau Omega and Baylor Transfer Council.
Keane models humility, consistency, and love, and he embodies the ‘caring community’ at the center of the Baylor mission. Establishing this scholarship in Keane’s honor was a natural outcome of his character, his impact on our lives, and our belief that he represents the best of Baylor.
