The Traci Adkins Cook Memorial Scholarship Fund in Neuroscience

In Memory of Traci Adkins Cook

Traci Adkins Cook, 49, of Alexandria, VA, unexpectedly passed away from a major stroke on July 8, 2021. Traci was born in Gainesville, TX on July 30, 1971. She graduated from Sanger High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Baylor University and a Masters of Education Administration from The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Traci married Nathan Earl Cook II on July 9, 1994; they were married 27 years.

Traci was an elementary and middle school teacher and most recently a Defense Contractor with DefenseWeb, TIAG, and Booz Allen Hamilton. Her passion was taking care of Army families where she served as a Family Readiness Group Leader throughout Nate’s 28 years of service with the United States Army.  She was instrumental in creating and developing the online forum of the family readiness group leaders, including the launch and training of the Army’s Virtual Family Readiness Group website. However, her number one priority in life was her relationship with her Lord and Savior closely followed by a dedication to her family, especially Nate and her two boys, Nathan and Joshua.

The family of Traci Adkins Cook wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Inova Alexandria Hospital as well as the City of Alexandria Fire and Police Departments for their care and compassion.
