On Friday, On Nov. 16, Baylor Law, in partnership with McLennan County Department of Families and Child Protective Services, will celebrate its eleventh annual National Adoption Day with three dozen central Texas families as their adoptions become finalized.
Over the past ten years, Baylor Law’s Public Interest Legal Society has organized Adoption Day, and has chosen “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” as its theme for this year’s special celebration. The 2018 Adoption Day celebration will transport adoptive kids and their new families on a magical trip to the North Pole on the Polar Express. There will be games, food, and fun for everyone involved.
Over the past decade, more than 500 Baylor Law students have volunteered thousands of hours before, during, and after Adoption Days, one of the largest volunteer events at the law school. Your financial support will be used to underwrite the expenses involved in this elaborate event.
Provides a cake for adoptive families to take home for their own personal adoption day celebrations.
Provides general financial support to cover expenses involved in Baylor Law's Adoption Day events.
Provides financial support for the many planned activities during Adoption Day. These include a cookie decoration station, games, and much more.
Provides funds so that each family can take home a gift basket of special items to help them memorialize this special day. Items will include books, videos a special Hallmark™ Christmas ornament, stuffed animals and other stocking stuffers.
This year’s adoption day will include a dedicated area for a ‘Storytime Nook’ decorated to look like Santa & Mrs. Clause’s living room where volunteers will read Christmas stories to children throughout the day.
Adoption Day at Baylor Law has grown with each year, and with your help, this year’s event will surpass them all. From the Krozer Courtroom (Room 127) to the Student Lounge, the first floor of Baylor Law will be converted to a Christmas-themed wonderland for the adoptive families. Think ‘Santa Land’ from the movie ELF… on steroids.
