The Libraries lead as an innovative research library that supports the mission of the university by undergirding scholarship, fostering teaching and learning, and building communities.
This year, the Libraries are encouraging giving to the Library Dean's Excellence Fund to provide flexible funding in support of furnishings and technology for a new Group Learning Commons.
The Group Learning Commons will be created on the Garden Level of Moody Memorial Library and will feature several areas of “pods” and small cubicles for groups of 4-8 students to collaborate, practice presentations, and use state-of-the-art displays to quickly share notes and files. These pods will create semi-private areas within a 24-hour accessible zone (the only space of its kind on campus open to all majors).
Your gift to the Library Dean’s Excellence Fund will go directly toward the purchase of furnishings and technology for the pods located next to the windows overlooking the Gregory Garden, providing natural light and calming views as a backdrop for group collaborative exercises.
