Kathryn Meinzinger transferred to Baylor University in the spring of 2015. Kathryn had a strong faith, kind heart, she knew no strangers, and was always eager to give back. Kathryn’s adventurous nature took her from camp counselor in the Ozarks, to serving as a senatorial page in DC, to mission fields on other continents.
At Baylor, Kathryn exhibited the characteristics of students who are successful in their transfer experience. Specifically, she became involved in the student culture at Baylor by joining and being active in organizations, including Baylor Transfer Council where she found joy in helping other transfer students find their own path. Kathryn also found a place of service in the local community where she volunteered her time at the animal shelter near campus and regularly fostered dogs as she helped to socialize them.
Kathryn was diagnosed with Spindle cell cancer on December 9th, 2016. She bravely fought this aggressive and rare disease, ultimately joining her Savior in heaven on March 6th, 2017.
Kathryn was adventurous, humorous, but above all else, she was generous. Her inspiration and legacy will live on through this, the Kathryn Meinzinger Endowed Scholarship.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." – Colossians 3:23
A favorite verse of Kathryn’s.
