Solid Gold Neighborhood School Supply Drive

The Office of External Affairs at Baylor University launched the Solid Gold Neighbor Initiative this summer.  The Solid Gold Neighbor program at Baylor is committed to working together with our neighboring communities to address systemic issues within a 2-mile radius of the university.  Several non-profit organizations are working with us in this school supply drive for the schools in the Waco ISD Transformation Zone (J. H. Hines, Brook Avenue, G. W. Carver, Indian Spring, Alta Vista).  These five schools were being consider for closure under a Texas law passed three years ago.  The Transformation Zone was created to save the schools.  This is a community effort to send school supplies directly to the classrooms of these schools.
